Katie Fitterer  M.A., BCBA, LBA

Senior Supervisor

Katie Fitterer began volunteering with children with autism while attending the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.  In the fall of 2005 she completed her practicum experience as a teacher’s aide at New Horizon's Regional Education Center for Autism, before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology.

In January of 2007, Katie joined the Mariposa School for Children with Autism in Cary, North Carolina.  She taught her students functional communication skills using the principles of ABA and Verbal Behavior.  After completing her coursework for behavior analysis through the University of North Texas, Katie became board certified as a BCaBA in August 2009. As a Program Coordinator at Mariposa, Katie oversaw programs focusing on language acquisition, developed Behavior Intervention Plans, and conducted initial and ongoing training for the school’s staff and parents.

In September of 2010, Katie relocated to Virginia and began working with NBC, LLC. Katie has enjoyed translating her experiences in a highly controlled clinic to working more closely with families in the home setting.  In addition to home programming, Katie has enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with IEP teams and provide consultation in the school and private therapy settings in order to ensure maximal progress and success for her clients.

In December 2014 Katie graduated with a M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism from Ball State University, becoming certified as a BCBA in February 2015.

When not graphing and analyzing data, Katie enjoys practicing yoga, watching football with her husband, and dance parties with her toddler.
